Thai Vermicelli Noodles

Thai Vermicelli Noodles

I enjoy the freshness of Thai food, but funnily enough I would rather eat Thai food anywhere else but in Thailand. I think so far I haven’t found the authentic Thai food and instead just the tourist traps.Thai and Vietnamese food is very similar.  They have a balance of flavours and typically incorporate salty, sweet and spicy in every meal with many vegetables and herbs.

Nutrition information for Bun: 3 cup serving size

  • Energy:  576 calories
  • Protein: 36g
  • Carbs: 69g
  • Fat: 18g

Thai Bun Ingredients: Boiled glass noodles, shrimps, peanuts, fish sauce, carrot lettuce, sugar, herbs.   I am assuming this meal has only the shrimp fried, and all the other ingredients are fresh. The portion size quoted is very large, so taking that into consideration this should be a reasonably healthy option.

Remember if the ingredients and cooking methods contain a lot of oil then the energy content will be higher.

My final recommendations every time you eat: Eat slowly, put your utensils down between bites and always stop when you feel 80% full because it’s better to waste it than to ‘waist’ it. Enjoy!
